What is an Undeterred Woman?
Here’s a secret I learned after four years of research and interviews: women professionally thriving in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe and the Middle East share one common trait.
They are all UNDETERRED.
Although undeterred is not a very common word, and I hesitated to use it as the name of my upcoming book (to be published in the next few weeks!), I couldn’t find a better word to capture the resilience, mindset and actions of successful woman in developing and emerging economies today.
“Being undeterred means persevering despite impediments and setbacks, and being resolute about what you want. Of course, women successfully working in growth economies sometimes feel discouraged, which is only natural. But they don’t give in, and they don’t give up.” – UNDETERRED: The Six Success Habits of Women in Emerging Economies, p. 25-26
The undeterred woman doesn’t allow challenges to stop her from pursuing her careers or business goals. She clears, eliminates, reduces, or works around every obstacle that comes her way so she can continue to pursue her goals and dreams.
ARE YOU UNDETERRED?
My soon to be released book UNDETERRED and its companion workbook I AM Undeterred explore how women learn to be undeterred in their careers, businesses and lives. It’s a habit that anyone can develop and sharpen.
“Undeterred women know that obstacles are a constant part of life; as soon as they overcome one difficulty, they run into another. What distinguishes these women and makes them worthy of our attention, is that they share courageous mindsets and have developed the habits that lead them to success.” – Habit 1: Be Undeterred, p. 26
We will let you know as soon as the book is published by retailers globally, including Amazon, iBookstore and Barnes & Noble. Keep an eye out!
