Sold-out events in South Africa: from university students to business women
I was blown away by the tweets and takeaways that were flooding @TheWayWomenWork a few weeks ago, I hopped on to Twitter at the exact time of Rania’s talk to the University of Cape Town, Graduate School of Business (@UCTGSB) in South Africa. The hundreds of attendees were encouraged to live tweet, and from my desk chair in the heart of the U.S., I watched hundreds of tweets pour in.
To share some of the fantastic things people said, and key messages from Rania’s speaking tour, I put together this Storify post below that pulls together a solid sampling from her UCT GSB keynote.
For nine days (May 19-26) Rania spoke at six sold-out events in Johannesburg and Cape Town. These events in South Africa were sponsored by Colleen Larsen of Business Engage (the dynamo who organized the entire visit) and well known global powerhouses such as PwC, Barclays, Vodacom, and T-Systems as well as the preeminent universities, the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), and UCT Graduate School of Business. During the trip Rania also attended the International Women’s Forum conference.
If you missed the News24 interview “South Africans are speaking openly about difficult subjects” with Rania, watch it now [3 minutes]. Check out some photos from a couple of the events on our Facebook page.
A huge thanks to everyone who hosted, attended the events, and welcomed Rania to your beautiful country!
